Physical theatre production

Physical theatre production

Terug naar cursusoverzicht

Entry requirements: Experience with physical theatre techniques such as Viewpoints or the Frantic Assembly method.

Whether you’ve already explored the foundations of physical theatre and are ready to take the next step, or you’re new to physical theatre but eager to dive deep. this course will guide you through the creative process of building a fully developed performance. Together, we’ll transform ideas into material, experiments into scenes, and scenes into a complete theatrical production to share with an audience.

Throughout the course, we’ll explore the theme of memory: what it means to hold on to memories, to lose or forget them, and how they shape our sense of reality. How real can a memory feel? And how do we create memories, on stage and in life?

We’ll begin by investigating the theme through questions, improvisations, and creative assignments. From there, we’ll move into focused devising tasks that challenge your imagination, physical expression, and collaborative skills. As our material develops, we’ll spend time refining, structuring, and rehearsing the final performance, working as an ensemble to bring clarity, depth, and emotion to the stage.

By the end of the course, you’ll have contributed to creating an original physical theatre piece, and you’ll perform it for a live audience in our theatre!
