Entry requirements: A willingness to embark on an inner journey
Do you feel something buzzing inside, longing to be expressed through your voice? Do you want to share your voice with the world, in sound, word or song, but do you notice something is holding you back? Do you long to sing more freely, even when others are listening?
Welcome to this 10-week journey into Voice Liberation. Together, we will explore the effortless path of your voice. Experience singing as release, singing as giving, singing as a dancing sigh. By curiously observing what happens when you follow your voice instead of controlling it, you will enter a playground where you can discover your unique sound on a deeper level.
Each evening, Nina will guide you through a different theme, serving as a starting point for connecting with your inner world. From this treasure box – your thoughts and feelings – sounds will ride the breath, and a song may be born from your lips that you could never have imagined. Can you imagine something more liberating than letting your sound reverberate fully; unpolished and
raw, radiant or tenderly soft… just as you are in that moment?
We work with solo, duo and group practices. Expect a mix of meditative, physical and playful and deepening exercises. With a touch of mysticism.
There is space for a maximum of 10 participants.
• To follow your voice instead of controlling it
• To increase body awareness
• To look at personal blockages
• To discover your unique vocal sound on a deeper level
• To write your own spoken word piece or little song
Nina van Koppen is an actress, theatre maker, and voice liberation facilitator. Drawn to the connecting and transformative power of theatre, she works at the intersection of performance art, ritual, and personal development. After graduating from the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht’s School of Theatre, Nina spent several years travelling the world. During these journeys, she encountered Indigenous traditions and rituals, mythological storytelling, and inspiring forms of self-expression. Today, she weaves these experiences into immersive theatre, poetic performances, and music.
Alongside creating her own work, Nina is passionate about helping others free their voice and express themselves more fully. Her teaching is inspired by her studies in voice liberation, theatre making, acting, poetry writing, yoga, and various meditation practices, as well as more than twenty years of experience performing on stage. With warmth, curiosity, and creativity, she creates a safe space where participants can explore, play, and discover the power of their own voice.
