Do you love theatre, and would you like to learn how to express yourself through your body rather than just your mind? Then this physical theatre course is perfect for you. Our approach focuses on creating theatre through movement, using physical space and the human body as the foundation of performance.
We will experiment with time and space, creating images and scenes through improvisation, as well as rehearsing and bringing them to life. This movement theatre approach combines music, text, and even silence to explore different ways of storytelling. Through devised theatre methods, we will work together, observe together, explore together, and most importantly, have fun together.
Julia Spoelstra completed her Teaching Theatre Maker program at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in 2018. During and after her studies, she focused on how to engage diverse audiences in a coaching and physical way. She uses various techniques from Viewpoint, Frantic Assembly, and the Das Arts Feedback method, among others. Playing, creating, and experimenting together is important to her. It’s all about truly working as a group and having fun. So, if you’ve always wanted to try something new, Julia would love to share this new challenge with you.
