Back to courses overview

Entry requirements: None. Everyone is welcome.

Do you love dancing and expressing yourself creatively? Contemporary Jazz combines technique, expression, and fun in one dynamic dance style. This energetic course blends the freedom of contemporary dance with the rhythm, power, and musicality of jazz.

Classes begin with a warm-up and gradually build towards exercises across the floor, exploring turns, jumps, and other technical elements. Alongside developing your technique, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore your own creativity and personal movement style.

Each class works towards a choreography that brings everything together. As you progress, you’ll not only strengthen your dance skills but also gain confidence in your own artistic expression.

What you’ll learn

  • The fundamentals of Contemporary Jazz
  • How to work with dynamics, musicality, and expression
  • Technical skills such as turns and jumps
  • Greater freedom and confidence in movement
  • How to learn and perform choreography as part of a group
