Entry requirements: none. This course will be taught in English 

Do you want to learn how to act? Do you want to discover what it means to be a performer? Then this course is perfect for you! During these lessons, you will learn what it means to perform on stage and to express your creative ideas to an audience. Emphasizing joy, courage, creativity and the freedom to play. Elements that will be covered include imagination, improvisation, teamwork, transforming into a character and text treatment. By the end of the course, you’ll have gained basic acting skills, your first experiences on stage and a deeper insight into your own strengths and areas for growth when it comes to acting!

About the teacher

Jos Minnaar studied Theatre Education and Cultural and Social Education and works as a theater maker, teacher, performer, and dancer. His work has been showcased at festivals such as Delft Fringe, Vuurol, Op Blote Voeten Festival, Lente Geluid, Zomer Geluid, Urban Owl, and Pigeon Fest, as well as in various venues across the central and southern Netherlands.

With over ten years of teaching experience, Jos knows better than anyone how important playfulness and courage are in theater. In his classes, he encourages students to let go of expectations, follow their impulses, and work from the body. “A good class,” he says, “is one where the room is unrecognizable from how it was at the start.”
